The Service Carbine is the latest new item released as part of the Criminal Enterprises DLC drip-feed, which also saw the release of the metal detector. If you haven’t unlocked the Service Carbine yet, view our full guide here on how to unlock it.
10 shots to kill – just like the Heavy, Advanced, and Compact Rifles. But given it has a relatively high fire rate, the time to kill is nearly on par with the Heavy & Advanced Rifles (the top 2 when it comes to time to kill). Of course, 10 shots is assuming you are hitting the body in PvP, and not the head.
Like most rifles in this class, headshots are still 1 shot kills (unless the opponent is wearing a helmet) up to 24 meters. Beyond that it’s a 2 shot kill.
To the body, the damage drops off a bit over 50 meters, and kills will take 11 shots or more. This generally won’t compare against MK2 weapons, which have a further damage drop-off (especially with the heavy barrel attachment).
Nothing special here, the lock on is up to 65 meters and the max range you can hit is 120 meters (the standard for most automatic weapons).
So now we know roughly where the Service Carbine stands in terms of damage (in the top 4 of the class, position varying a bit depending on time to kill or damage per second). But it is a little bit more accurate than the Heavy Rifle so will be better suited for longer distances.
Comes with all the basic attachments except a scope. Once unlocked, the modifications as pictured below are available via Ammu-Nation.
The Service Carbine can easily stand in for or replace the Assault or Heavy rifle in your loadout. Due to the better accuracy it is more suited for longer distances.
The weapon is overall a nicely balanced addition to the game. While not ‘the best’ at anything, it can go toe-to-toe with most all-time favourite rifles in many scenarios.
